About SDUMC

A group of like-minded visionaries headed by Shri.R.L.Jalappa, Champion of Co-operative movement of Karnataka established Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust for Backward Classes to focus on Medical Education and Social Service.The University is spread over an are of more than 72 Acres of lush green campus with attached NABH accredited super-speciality hospital.

Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College (SDUMC), established in 1986, is a renowned institution located in Tamaka, Kolar, Karnataka, India. Named after the former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri Devaraj Urs, SDUMC is committed to excellence in medical education, research, and healthcare services. SDUMC continues to shape the next generation of healthcare professionals, leaving a lasting impact on medical education in India.

What is DeMedCon

DeMedCon is a national level undergraduate medical conference hosted by Sri Devaraj Urs Medical college, affiliated to Sri Devaraj Urs Academy Of Higher Education And Research, Karnataka. Kolar. It is organized by the student research committee since 2014. SDUMC was one of the pioneers in organising national level undergraduate medical conference

The First President of the University Sri.R.L.Jalappa, who was the Founder & Chairman of Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust (SDUET), was an outspoken politician, educationist and leader of co-operative movement. Under his leadership Sri Devaraj Urs Educational Trust has 8 Institutions in which more than 500 dedicated, motivated faculties are serving and over 4500 students have enrolled for various courses from kindergarten to post doctoral courses, in traditional, technical and medical educational Institutions.

Kurudamale,Vinayaka Temple

The Kurudamale Vinayaka Temple, located in Karnataka's Kolar district, is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Renowned for its massive 13.5-foot tall Ganesha idol carved from a single stone, the temple dates back to the Vijayanagara period. It's a site of historical and religious significance, attracting devotees and history enthusiasts alike. Avani Ramalingeshwara Temple & Hill

The Avani Ramalingeshwara Temple is a group of ancient shrines located on a hill in Avani, near Kolar. These temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva, are steeped in mythology and history, with their origins linked to the Ramayana. The hill is also known as the birthplace of Lava and Kusha, the twin sons of Lord Rama. The temple complex features remarkable Dravidian architecture and is a significant site for devotees and history enthusiasts. The surrounding hill offers scenic views and opportunities for trekking, making it a popular spot for both pilgrims and tourists.

Antargange Hills

Antargange Hills, located near Kolar in Karnataka, are a popular destination for trekkers and adventure seekers. The hills are part of the Shathashrunga mountain range and are known for their unique volcanic rock formations and numerous caves. The name "Antargange" translates to "Ganges from within," referring to a perennial spring that flows from a mysterious source within the hills, believed to be sacred. The area also hosts an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The combination of natural beauty, religious significance, and opportunities for exploration makes Antargange a favored spot for outdoor activities.

Kolar Gold Fields

Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), located in Karnataka, was once one of the world's deepest and most productive gold mines. Established by the British in the 19th century, KGF was a bustling town centered around gold mining until its closure in 2001. The mines, reaching depths of over 3,000 meters, were renowned for their rich deposits and historical significance. KGF Club

Kolaramma Kere

Kolaramma Kere, also known as Kolaramma Lake, is a prominent water body in the town of Kolar, Karnataka. Named after the local deity Kolaramma, the lake has historical and religious significance. Kotilinga

Kotilinga, or Kotilingeshwara Temple, is a unique and renowned temple located in Kammasandra village near Kolar, Karnataka. The temple is famous for its collection of millions of Shiva lingas, with the name "Kotilinga" translating to "ten million lingas." The site is a significant pilgrimage destination, attracting devotees from across the country. The main deity is a towering 108-foot Shiva linga, surrounded by countless smaller lingas, creating a mesmerizing and spiritual atmosphere. The temple complex also features a 35-foot statue of Nandi, Shiva's vehicle, and is a site of grand religious festivals and rituals.
